Wanting More Cover Reveal

I'm super happy to reveal the cover for my March 28 release with Entangled Publishing! Didn't they do an amazing job with this one? (The cover artist is Louisa Maggio.) My Letting Go cover is also getting a face lift, and I am on pins and needles waiting to see that one. I will post it as soon as I get it. Every time I worked on the book, I fell a little more for Josh. I hope readers will love him as much as I do.

News–Josh gets a story!

One of my early beta readers for Letting Go told me I needed to tell Josh's story. I was like "huh?" But the more I thought about it, the more I realized it was true! He's a totally fun character and a lot deeper than he seems on the surface. I'm pleased to announce that Josh will have his day! I'm so excited! I'm happy to be working with my editor for Letting Go again, and I can't wait to see what the brilliant people over at Entangled come up with for the cover. So excuse me for a few…

Release Day for Letting Go

Today’s the release of Letting Go, my first book! Okay, I lied, on two counts. I’m writing this the night before my release date because I still have a day job—those teenagers won’t teach themselves—so I won’t have time to write a blog on my actual release date. Count two? Letting Go isn’t actually my first book. My first book shall remain nameless and hidden deep, deep on my hard drive, never to see light of day. It was a cool concept, but the execution? Not so good. Most authors have at least one of these under-the-bed books, the term…

Win a Kindle Copy of Letting Go or an Amazon Giftcard!

The days until the release of my debut novel, Letting Go, are waning. Just two weeks! Although the book was contracted last September, which means it has technically taken less than a year to release, my journey started long before that. I've been writing off and on my whole life, but the birth of my children kicked me into high gear. There's nothing like watching how quickly your children grow to realize that time is fleeting. If I was serious about pursuing this writing dream of mine, then the time was now. After all, there's no time like the present, right? To celebrate my upcoming release,…

College Party Anthems (Circa Early 2000s)

My first novel, Letting Go, was inspired by a lot of my own college experiences. The heroine, Cori, first meets the hero, Luke, at a fraternity party. Just like Cori, I spent my fair share of time at fraternity parties since my then-boyfriend (now-husband) lived in a fraternity house. And no college party experience would be complete without music. Just a few seconds of any of these songs takes me back…ah, memories.

The Eagle has Landed–I Have a Cover!

It's here! It's here! I have a cover! I've been working toward this moment for years--the day I get to see my name (my name!!!) on a book cover. It's a little surreal, yet oh-so-satisfying. What's mind-numbing is what this means--soon actual people, other than my friends and family, will read my book. GULP.  Scary, exciting, scary, exhilarating, scary, rewarding...did I mention scary? But enough about that. I'm pleased to present the gorgeous cover that the folks over at Entangled designed for me. It's so pretty? (And it has PURPLE letters! Yay!)   How long do you hold on? Cori Elliott…

The Wait is Over

Big news! I can now call myself a professional author! That’s right, people! My Golden Heart book has sold to Entangled to be part of their Embrace line. I have waited years to make this announcement. It took a lot of time, tears, and effort. As any writer can tell you, rejection is a huge part of living the author life. And you know, I knew that going in. I wasn’t delusional, thinking I would burst onto the scene with my first book, earn a six figure advance, immediately sell the movie rights, and live happily ever after on the…
